I can’t tell you how much I’m enjoying dog portrait photography in South London Parks – I get to meet so many lovely four- legged creatures (and their charming owners), and they’re all so different. I also get to explore lots of different areas of a neighbourhood that I have lived in for nearly 30 years, but have never spent much time exploring on foot.
For today’s shoot we headed out to Tooting Bec Common with 5.5 year old chocolate labrador/collie cross Lucy. It was a really bright and sunny day, and the full-on sunshine (welcome though it is in a country that seems to be in a permanent state of winter), didn’t really do much to bring out the silky smoothness of Lucy’s gorgeous, shiny coat, until we found a bit of shade. But the nicest shots were when we headed back home and Lucy got to sit on her velvety smooth sofa, which provided the perfect background to Lucy’s chocolate tones.
